There's so many exciting ways to celebrate at the Jersey Shore this winter. Get 2012 off to a great start on Jan. 1^st at the Polar Bear Plunge in Sea Bright - Your $30 registration fee includes breakfast, a t-shirt, cocktail and entertainment.   Proceeds will benefit breast cancer research.  Other great ways to start off the New Year include First Saturday on Jan. 7th in downtown Asbury Park, the Winter Beach Blast at the Ocean County Mall on Jan. 14^{th -} an afternoon of family fun with music, games, crafts, prizes and entertainment. 

Another great family fun idea is visiting the Aquarium at Jenkinson's on the boardwalk in Pt. Pleasant during feeding hours. Exhibits such as Atlantic sharks, Pacific sharks, coral reefs, penguins, alligators and seals give you the opportunity to get up close to animals from around the globe. Another attraction, the touch tank, allows visitors to touch live animals ranging from a sea star to a sting ray! Visit their website to find out the feeding schedules. 

The Novins Planetarium Sky Theatre recently re-opened at Ocean County College with some of the latest projection technology to bring you the universe in innovative and exciting new ways. You will feel like you became a part of our universe in their new dome with virtual 3-D video space.  Check their website for a list of their Winter Programs on Fri., Sat. and Sunday nights.

The Jersey Shore is alive with exciting entertainment throughout the month of January.

Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank has a great line up which includes The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and The Elvis Birthday Bash starring Mike Albert & Scot Bruce.

On Jan. 8th celebrate the New Year with Father Alphonse Stephenson and The Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea in this traditional concert featuring Viennese waltzes and other favorites at the Algonquin Arts Theatre  in Manasquan.

If you would like to start off the New Year with laughter, visit Uncle Vinnie's Comedy Club in Pt. Pleasant . They have a great January line-up with some of the industry's best comedians. Chaske Spencer from Twilight Movie Series will be at Uncle Vinnie's on Jan. 28^th at 11am.  Check their website for details.
