Since the late 19th century New Jersey boardwalks have been popular gathering places. Some boardwalks such as Spring Lake and Avon, are ideal for a quite stroll to enjoy a beautiful view. Others such as Jenkinson’s Boardwalk (pictured) in Point Pleasant Beach and the Seaside Heights boardwalk, are popular for family entertainment and are packed with various rides, games and amusements. Whatever your speed, you are certain to find a boardwalk area at the Jersey Shore to fall in love with.

For thrill seekers there are larger amusement parks like Six Flags Great Adventure, small parks for younger children with family coaster, hayride, and Christmas Village meet and greet with Santa like Pirate's Cove water park. The Jersey Shore has it all no matter what age you think you are.
Taffy

Saltwater Taffy

Salt Water Taffy is a Jersey Shore tradition. The taffy is soft taffy originally produced and marketed on the Jersey Shore. The tradition of salt water taffy began in the late 19th century. Taffy from Jenkinson’s Boardwalk is a favorite for many visitors from all over the country year after year. While strolling the Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, don’t forget to stop by the Victorian Sweet Shop. Here you can sample homemade fudge, caramel, candy apples, salt-water taffy and other homemade treats.
Monmouth Park

Monmouth Park: Jersey Shore Horse Racing Mecca

When you head to the Jersey shore in the summer it is always a good idea to schedule a trip to Monmouth Park. Monmouth Park will be open for live racing Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Its races will have the highest average purses in the country and the track is open year-round for simulcasting. It will pay out close to $50 million in purses over 50 racing programs scheduled until Labor Day. Monmouth Park is a beautiful facility just a stone’s throw from the beaches and is a great destination for locals and visitors.

The mile long Asbury Park Boardwalk is located 60 miles south of New York City and approximately 90 minutes north of Atlantic City. Once known as the "Crown Jewel" of the Jersey Shore or the "Shore's Foremost Year-Round Resort" a comeback is in the making. Come and see the Boardwalk and Downtown. It's getting more fun each day. Count Basie

Count Basie Theater Red Bank

This landmark theater, the Count Basie was beautifully renovated in the summer of 2008. Besides Count Basie, legends such as James Brown and Tony Bennett, as well as headline performers such as George Carlin, Boz Scaggs, Counting Crows, Olivia Newton John, and Jon Stewart, have performed at the theatre. Jersey Shore legend Bruce Springsteen has made several surprise guest appearances. Cats performed there. The Jersey Shore is open all year long. When the holiday times roll around there are many tree lighting ceremonies, downtown areas for shopping and getting together with friends, and special events. Visit the Boardwalk in Seaside Heights and Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Pt. Pleasant Beach for some good old fashion family fun with a winter time flair.

Polar Bear Plunge

The Jersey Shore is open all year long. Throughout the winter months many towns hold plunges. If you are wondering what a plunge is one of the largest Polar Bear Plunges takes place on the beach in Seaside Heights in front of the Aztec Ocean Resort on Saturday, February 26, 2011. This plunge benefits Special Olympics. This is a great reason to bring the family to the Boardwalk. Visit the Boardwalk in Seaside Heights and Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Pt. Pleasant Beach for some good old fashion family fun with a winter time flair.

With Spring and Summer just around the corner, The Jersey Shore will be filled with outdoor festivals, concerts, sporting events and much more!

You will find great things at the Shore this summer.  As we expected most of the Jersey Shore beaches have rebuild there boardwalks, spread the sand, created great festivals and music events.  The Jersey Shore business community invites you back to make new memories.

The Jersey Shore offers music that moves you, plays that inspire you, historic sites that engage you, shopping that renews you, weekend retreats that soothe you, spas that restore you, dining spots that delight you, recreation that invigorates you and attractions that thrill you.  If you have any questions on your favorite destination feel free to call our offices and we can better help answer your questions. 

On June 15th we have the Raise the Roof Benefit for Sandy Recovery which will benefit the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove.  Festivities start at 8pm and the Jersey Shore Wine Festival is n Lakewood the same day.

If that isn't enough FUN! Help Build the World's Tallest Sandcastle June 7th -June 30th, yes right here on the Jersey Shore in Point Pleasant Beach.

If your looking for Arts and culture look no further visit the Two River Theater or the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, The Showroom in Asbury Park or the Algonquin Theater in Manasquan.
